Demain dès l'Aube, or just Demain, a story centered around the medical researcher Dr. Aimé Daizomes as he tries to find a way to produce a vaccine for cholera, set in 19th Century soclialist France. Though his focus on his work is obsessive, distractions slip through the cracks in his concentration, offering him an opportunity to branch his research in a more magical direction. It's also an excuse for me to read articles about things like the history of hot water heaters and 19th Century surgical techniques.
