The Tiger Claw Galaxy is a mature, though relatively small, barred spiral galaxy with three arms radiating from its central disk. It hosts a variety of native space-faring species, as well as a considerable population of non-native humans. Antecedent gates, scattered liberally across the topography, make long distance travel nearly instantaneous, allowing the flow of information and individuals across thousands of light years.
The first arm (or “claw”) of the spiral, which lays closest to the central mass, is considered the seat of power for the galaxy. The bar of this arm is the most densely inhabited, and contains the most Antecedent ruins and thus the most abundant trade. This claw boasts the most stable Protectorate management, though lasting damage caused by the rebellion can still be seen.
The second arm bears the scars of the rebellion most apparently, and the Protectorate’s hold there is more tenuous. This claw contains the seats of powers for factions distinct from, though aligned with, the Protectorate such as the University and Primula Industries. Carefully maintained relationships prevent them from directly interfering in state affairs, though puppeted third parties may at times be used to attempt power grabs.
The third claw, which extends the furthest from the central disk of the galaxy, was the birthplace of the rebellion, and is the primary focus of the Protectorate’s current expansionist endeavors. Riddled with pathologic Flock colonies, this arm is widely considered the most dangerous for the average citizen, though the relatively untouched Antecedent sites that can be found scattered in those distant systems are a draw for the more adventurous.
